Each July, as the new school year approaches, our church family gathers for a powerful evening of prayer walking around local schools in the Springfield area. This is a meaningful way to intercede for students, teachers, administrators, counselors, and families as they prepare for a new year.
We'll divide into teams, each assigned to a different school in our community, and walk the perimeter of the campus while praying Scripture over the school. Prayer prompts and Scripture cards are provided for each team. We pray specifically for student safety, academic excellence, godly teachers and staff, Gospel opportunities, and protection from bullying and violence.
The prayer walk begins at 6:00 PM with a brief gathering in the church parking lot for instructions, prayer, and team assignments. Teams return to the church by 7:30 PM for a closing prayer and refreshments. Transportation is provided for those who need it.
Families are encouraged to attend together. This is a wonderful way to teach children the importance and power of prayer. All ages are welcome.
