For over 12 years, Diakonia Christian Church has sent a summer mission team to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, to partner with Iglesia de Cristo La Esperanza and the Honduras Children's Alliance. This life-changing trip is open to adults (18+) and students (16+ with a parent or guardian).
The team of 15–20 members will serve in multiple capacities: construction and repair of church and school facilities, conducting children's Bible clubs and VBS-style programs, distributing food, clothing, and school supplies to families in need, home visitations and prayer with local families, and supporting the work of our long-term missionary partners, the Martinez family.
The cost of $1,800 per person covers airfare, lodging, meals, ground transportation, and ministry supplies. Scholarships and fundraising assistance are available — finances should never be a barrier to mission service. Team members are required to attend four pre-trip training sessions (May–June).
