Our Senior Adults Ministry hosts seasonal day trips throughout the year, and the Spring Outing to Lincoln Memorial Garden is always a favorite. Located on the shores of Lake Springfield, the garden features miles of walking trails through native Illinois landscapes — perfect for a leisurely stroll and time of fellowship.
The day includes a guided nature walk (accessible paths available), a catered picnic lunch in the garden pavilion, time for bird watching and photography, and plenty of conversation and laughter with friends old and new.
Church van transportation will depart from the church parking lot at 10:00 AM sharp and return by 3:00 PM. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a hat and sunscreen. In case of rain, we'll enjoy an indoor fellowship lunch at the church instead.
This outing is open to all senior adults (55+) and their spouses. Wheelchairs and walkers are accommodated on paved garden paths.
