Building Fund Update: 78% to Goal

Building FundStewardshipChurch Updates

We are excited to report that our Building Fund has reached 78% of its $1.2 million goal! These funds will support the renovation of our Fellowship Hall, the addition of four new classrooms for our growing children's ministry, and critical HVAC upgrades throughout the building. Thank you to everyone who has contributed so faithfully. We trust God to bring this project to completion in His perfect timing.

The Building for the Future capital campaign was launched in January 2025 with a three-year giving timeline. In just 14 months, our congregation has given or pledged over $936,000 — a remarkable testament to the generosity and vision of the Diakonia family. Every gift, regardless of size, has contributed to this progress, and we are deeply grateful.

Here is a breakdown of the planned renovations: The Fellowship Hall renovation ($480,000) will include new flooring, updated kitchen facilities, improved lighting, expanded seating capacity from 200 to 350, and a modern AV system for events and overflow worship. The classroom addition ($520,000) will construct four new classrooms on the east wing of the building, providing dedicated space for our growing Sunday School, youth programs, and community classes. The HVAC upgrades ($200,000) will replace our aging heating and cooling systems with energy-efficient units, reducing our utility costs by an estimated 35% annually.

Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in the fall of 2026, pending the completion of fundraising and final architectural approvals. During the construction period, we will implement a temporary space plan to ensure that all ministries continue without interruption. The building committee is working closely with Johnson & Associates Architecture and Springfield Construction Group to finalize designs and timelines.

If you have not yet had the opportunity to participate in the Building for the Future campaign, it is not too late. Every contribution moves us closer to our goal. You can give through the Sunday offering (marked 'Building Fund'), online through our giving page, or by contacting the church office to discuss a multi-year pledge. Together, we are building a facility that will serve our community for generations to come.
