Our team is preparing for a glorious Easter celebration! Volunteer sign-ups are now open for greeters, parking attendants, children's ministry helpers, and the Easter breakfast team. Don't miss the Easter choir rehearsal this Saturday at 10 AM in the sanctuary. This year's Easter service will feature a brass ensemble, a children's processional, and the baptism of twelve new believers.
Easter Sunday is the most attended service of the year at Diakonia Christian Church, and we want every guest to experience the warmth, joy, and transformative power of the resurrection message. Our hospitality team is preparing welcome bags for first-time visitors, and the children's ministry is planning a special Easter egg hunt and resurrection story stations for kids ages 3 through 5th grade.
The Easter breakfast will be served from 8:00 to 9:15 AM in the Fellowship Hall, featuring homemade biscuits and gravy, fruit, pastries, coffee, and juice. This is a wonderful opportunity for fellowship before the 10:00 AM worship service. The breakfast is free, but donations are welcome to benefit our Grace Pantry food ministry.
If you would like to volunteer for any of these Easter ministries, please sign up at the Welcome Center in the lobby or contact the church office at (217) 555-0180. We need approximately 45 additional volunteers to ensure that every detail is covered. Whether you can serve for one hour or the entire morning, your help is deeply appreciated.
We are also collecting lilies and spring flowers to decorate the sanctuary. If you would like to donate flowers in memory or in honor of a loved one, please fill out a flower dedication form at the Welcome Center by Palm Sunday, April 5. The names will be printed in the Easter Sunday bulletin.
