Spring small groups launch the week of March 9! This semester we are offering 18 groups meeting throughout Springfield — including groups for young adults, couples, women, men, and mixed-age studies. Topics range from the book of Philippians to practical Christian parenting to understanding the Old Testament prophets. Visit the small groups table in the lobby or contact Pastor Rebecca to find the right group for you.
At Diakonia Christian Church, we believe that spiritual growth happens best in the context of authentic relationships. Our small groups provide a space for deeper Bible study, honest conversation, mutual encouragement, and practical prayer. Whether you are a lifelong believer or just beginning to explore faith, there is a group where you will feel welcomed and valued.
Here is a sampling of this semester's offerings: 'Joy in the Journey' — a study of Philippians for women, meeting Tuesday mornings at 9:30 AM. 'Iron Sharpens Iron' — a men's accountability group, meeting Thursday evenings at 7:00 PM. 'Growing Together' — a couples' study on building strong marriages, meeting Friday evenings at 6:30 PM. 'Foundations of Faith' — a basics of Christianity course for new believers, meeting Wednesday evenings at 6:00 PM. 'The Prophets Speak' — an in-depth study of the Old Testament prophets, meeting Sunday afternoons at 4:00 PM.
Each group meets weekly for 10 weeks (March 9 – May 17) and is led by a trained facilitator from our congregation. Most groups meet in homes, though some meet at the church or at local coffee shops. Groups range in size from 6 to 14 people, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to participate and build meaningful connections.
To sign up, visit the small groups table in the church lobby on any Sunday, contact Pastor Rebecca Osei at rebecca@diakoniacc.org, or call the church office at (217) 555-0180. We encourage you to sign up early, as some groups fill quickly. If none of the existing groups fit your schedule or interests, let us know — we are always open to launching new groups to meet the needs of our congregation.
