We are thrilled to welcome Caleb Reyes to the Diakonia team as our new Youth Ministry Intern! Caleb is a senior at Lincoln Christian University majoring in Youth Ministry. He will be assisting Pastor James with Wednesday night youth group, retreat planning, and student discipleship. Caleb brings a contagious enthusiasm for the Gospel and a heart for the next generation. Welcome, Caleb!
Caleb grew up in a small church in rural Illinois and first felt the call to youth ministry during a summer camp experience in high school. 'I saw how God used my counselors to speak truth into my life during a really difficult season,' Caleb shares. 'I knew then that I wanted to invest in young people the way they invested in me.'
At Lincoln Christian University, Caleb has been deeply involved in campus ministry, leading a weekly Bible study for freshman men and serving on the university's chapel planning team. He has also completed ministry practicums at two area churches, gaining hands-on experience in small group leadership, event planning, and one-on-one mentoring.
As our Youth Ministry Intern, Caleb will be leading games and activities at Wednesday night youth group, helping plan our summer youth retreat to Lake Williamson Christian Center, and meeting individually with students for discipleship conversations. He will also be helping launch a new student-led worship team for our youth services.
